The americana/alt.country band Seven Doors Hotel was formed in 2003. It consists of singer/songwriter Alexander Lindbäck (St. Thomas / Ping / American Suitcase), drummer Lasse Baklien (Lukestar / Bellman), Kenneth Bjørdal on organ/piano, guitarist Bjørn Harald Tveråli Winge and Robert Hörnfelt on bass. The band’s eponymous album was released in 2006 by the Spanish record label Underhill Records.

Seven Doors Hotel’s second album, “The Great Northern”, was released by Voices of Wonder/VME late April 2008,. Mark Olson (The Jayhawks) sings on two tracks on the album. In addition Lars Håvard Haugen (Hellbillies) plays mandolin on two songs.

The album was recorded in the band’s own Safe & Sound studio, where also parts of Mark Olson’s latest solo album “The Salvation Blues” were recorded. The summer of 2008 saw SDH playing together with Mark Olson and Gary Louris (The Jayhawks) at Norwegian Wood Festival.

Right now they are preparing for a summer recording of a 3rd album.

SDH has supported international acts such as Grant-Lee Phillips,  Joanna Newsom, Tift Merritt, Bobby Bare Jr, Mark Olson, Jason Molina and Justin Townes Earle.
